  The staff was great, however.....the motel is in bad need of updating!!!!! The rooms are outdated and some of the furniture is worn. It was however clean. The hot water had to run for 10 minutes..the sign in the bathroom said to do so.

  I requested a non smoking room and was given a room that reeked of cigarettes. the two windows (ground floor) were unlocked and when i tried to lock the flimsy ...

  I requested a non smoking room and was given a room that reeked of cigarettes. The two windows (ground floor) were unlocked and when I tried to lock the flimsy locks, one did not work. The carpet was filthy around the edges and corners. The bathroom and even the bedroom did not have a single outlet for 3 girls to use hairdryers, etc. The sink had cold water only. Everything is decades outdated. I would never stay there again.

  This hotel has great beds! some hotels have "hammocks", but the blue jay has great beds!

  We enjoyed our 2 day stay here. the best features of this hotel were cleanliness and the proximity to 81 and va tech.
