My biggest complaint above all else is the exuberant fee that we had to pay for access to the internet. In this day and age, it is completely ridiculous that you even are required to pay anything for internet access, let alone the appalling $* per day at this hotel. Many optional activities cost extra, too. To use the tredmill, there is a fee. To us the ping pong table, there is a fee. The room we booked was not available and they would not give us an upgrade. Instead, my wife and I had to sleep in a room with twin beds not even sleeping together. The double room that we did eventually get was significantly smaller than many, many other hotels I've stayed in previously. While the rooms were clean, this was almost to a fault; we left the "do not disturb" sign on our room, but the maid still came in while we were away and left our valuables on the bed. Nothing was taken, but we used the "do not disturb" sign for a reason. And for some reason, the closet lights just would not turn off...odd. I do have a positive comment! The concierge service was top rate and very helpful. The young guys that were always at the desk when we needed them were full of great advice and information.

great location in the heart of the Bund, is very convenient and the room was OK. The hotel with a great location, only sereral blocks from Nanjing Rd., about 20 min. walk to YuYuan. From the hotel walk along Guangdong Rd. toward People's square about 10 min walk to People's square subway station. Renmin Park, Shanghai Museum are around there..

Had a very pleasant stay in the Hotel Bund in October. The hotel is elegant, clean and well kept. Staff were helpful. The Breakfast buffet included a mix of traditional Chinese and western dishes and ample fresh fruit. Did not eat in the hotel restaurant. The hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the main shopping street, Nanjing Lu, subway stations and a city park. The actual historic waterfront Bund district is a 15 min walk. The surrounding neighborhood is an interesting place to stroll for inexpensive, tasty meals with numerous small restaurants and bakeries. Internet service is available in the room but costs about $*/day. One note of warning, westerners, particularly males, should avoid Nanjing Lu after dark unless you enjoy the constant attention of pimps and "rolex" watch salesmen.

10/15/2009 Gentleman, We're writing the following review, considering as the constructive feedback for the Hotel Management, as well as Travel online: 1) The hotel room is nice & clean, with enough amenities for tourists. 2) We stayed there for 3 nights/4 days, and we met all three different Concierges: all of them are very nice and helpful. 3) Because of The National Day, some restrictions have been enforced, and we have to change our schedule, that's why, we got a problem about getting the air tickets, and we asked the check -in clerk to stay one extra night, but the clerk-in-charge refused to let us stay, telling us to talk to your agency, since we booked the room through Travel online...And if we need to contact your office via internet or phone, we have to pay for it, of course. But we got bad experience in using the computer at the hotel's Business Center, and we don't want to use it to contact your office. We then decided to move to another hotel close by there. 4) Our unsatisfied experience is the terrible treat of the ticketing office inside The Bund Hotel: The day before, Sep 29/09, we spend so much times trying to communicate with the ticketing representative via the hotel's excellent interpreter, and finally, this representative told us that he already made a reservation for two tickets from Shanghai to Xianfang Airport for us, and we have to purchase these tickets by tomorrow. But early morning the following day, he wasn't at the office, his assistant contacted him, then told us that there was only one ticket for us! We don't know what to say, but this representative seems don't care about his customer, especially the senior citizens like us, who really need help. His attitude must be corrected. Regards,
