The hotel was great. It was what we expected. I've been to better Marriotts but being in another country this one was fine. The staff was friendly, the food was pricey but the portions are larger than you get outside the hotel and they are just as pricey. We booked some tours of the Island and they were very nice. The snorkeling tour was all day but I recomend the half day unless you want to stay on the boat longer and drink. The volcano hike os very hard but worth the hike if you are up to it. The beach at the hotel was ok the pool was nicer. The island is depressed but we always felt safe in town. I would recomend a cab and not renting a car.

I was on a business conference in St. Kitts and am a frequent guest at Marriott hotels. This was not the best property but the location was great. Our room smelled of mildew and the A/C was a problem. This was after we moved rooms once already. If you stay here, you must insist on a room facing the Atlantic Ocean for the breeze. The staff tried to be helpful but I sensed a shyness and laziness in many of them and not just island time. The food was below average for the most part. We ate at ""La Cocina"" and that was great both food and service. If you are going to enjoy the sun and water this is your place. The rest of the island was borderline scary and the trash issue was depressing. The government will have to get these residents trained in hospitality, construction and litter clean up before they will reap the benefits of huge tourism dollars. I will go again but will probably wait a few years.

Having just returned from a week at the Marriott I am surprised st some of the reviews I have read here. The hotel was very clean, our room was taken care of quickly every day and the people were generally very friendly although quite shy. The pool abd pool bar was great, price for coladas so not outrageous for a few drinks. The beach is nice but on the Atlantic is rougher than the carribean sea. We booked sevral tours through the hotel and each worked out great. The golf course was beautiful and my wife enjoyed the spa. I actually found the best keep secret with a full 25 minute back massage for a small fee. My only complaint is the food is not great and pretty expensive. Lunch was the most frustrating meal as they did not have a simple sandwich shop just to pick out a wrap and chips. There was a pizza joint by the pool and a sit down resteraunt but the food was not good. Your best bet is to head over to the ""strip"" where there is a row of beach shack was some terrific food and ver reasonable. I do not recommend a car as driving is a bit tricky on the left and the roads are in very por condition. You can walk to the strip for dinner. Thursdays at the Shiggidty shack is a noght to remember.

This Hotel has many problems from dirty rooms to broken appliences and no staff that cares to repair the stuff. The price was over $ per night and for a person llike meyself that travels every week I was SHOCKED at the poor managent of this Marriott property. I would not recomend the property or the Island of St. Kitts unless you want to pay $ for a tuna sandwich and soda. The locals just want your money and don't want to provide anything to you in return. Don't waste your time and money going here.

Having returned from what should have been a wonderful trip to St.Kitts, I felt it was important to share my experience. I was shocked, having spent so many nights on the road at Marriott properties throughout the country, to experience apathetic and rude service, unclean rooms, insect infestation and overall poor customer service at a Marriott property. The island of St. Kitts was lovely, and there are many wonderful things to do and see - I would highly recommend people finding a hotel that compliments this vacation versus ruining it. After waiting in the lobby for almost 3 hours for a room upon arrival and check in, I was given a musty/smelly room that ultimately was infested with beach bugs/ants and roaches. I walked past a dead roach in the doorway of my room for 3 days - and was continually amazed that it was never disposed of. Towels were not clean and were not swapped out - so dirty towels from the day before were left in te bathroom or on the floor. The island service is slow -which you would expect on a carribean vacation - but waiting 30 minutes at a table for water/initial contact is riduculous. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told one was not available and that I didn't need to speak with one anyway.

It was a disappointing stay and ultimately ruined my trip.
