We recently stayed at the Embassy after reading numerous reviews and searching map after map for a decent location. It was in a great location. So convenient that we were able to walk most everywhere.. enough that my husband complained that we should have stayed further awy so he didn't have to walk so much. The staff was great and friendly. The breakfast was fabulous. Omelets every morning. The manager reception was nice as well to wind down before getting ready for dinner.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located and the service was excellent. On the down side, I made the reservation, prepaid and addressed Char at check in. Char was friendly and helpful but seemed to address pertinent questions to my daughter. Very annoying. Ageism was definitely evident. The other issue I found lacking was the exhorbitant parking fee. Although the design of the hotel was convenient the abundant glass and hard surfaces made it extremely noisy and the atmosphere sterile. On the positive side the breakfast buffet was exceptional and again, friendly, welcoming staff.

Great experience from beginning to end. Everyone from the bellhops, the front desk personnel, the breakfast personnel, security and the housekeepers were extremely friendly and helpful. It made our week stay in Chicago perfect. The breakfast had a nice variety and was delicious but it helps to get there before the end with the final mad rush. The evening reception was nice however the two times we went the snacks were chips, salsa, mixed nuts, etc. The hotel is conveniently located to the Navy Pier which we walked to often. Two blocks from Michigan Avenue and the bus stop for the museums and other locations of interest. Would definitely stay again and recommend it to family and friends.

Wasn't sure what to expect. Was pleasantly surprised. Great hotel. We had a beautiful view of the city. The kids loved looking out the huge window at night and watching the twinkling lights of the city.. The beds were comfortably, the decor nicely updated. Everything was clean--and I am extremely picky about cleanliness in hotels.. The rooms were spacious--not at all cramped like in other downtown Chicago hotels I have stayed at. The location was great. We walked to Navy Pier. There was a Walgreen's nearby to pick up snacks and such. The hotel had a great ;manager's reception& every evening with free drinks and snacks. The free breakfast was very good, with a lot of options. The pool was pretty small, but the kids enjoyed it. All in all a nice place and we definately would stay again. the only downside was the price of parking! $41.00/day.
