  Have stayed in Chicago many times as we have family here. Wrote ahead to the Fairmont staff to tell them we were in town celebrating an anniversary and birthday. Got chocolate dipped strawberries delivered to one room and a cake with fresh berries to another room upon arrival without asking. Outstanding doorman/bellman service. Was greeted by name; staff go out of there way to make everything is right. Very friendly staff!! The bed was very comfortable. The separate tiled shower was incredible; lots of hot water and nice bathrobes!! This is my new favorite place in Chicago. Good view of the lakefront and parks. Just off the magnificent mile and easy to walk to parks, art museum, Field Museum, river front, Navy Pier. A short cab ride to most any place else.

  Stayed there from June 6-9. Room and bath were immaculate; fantastic view of the city and lake; great wine and cheese bar. Sushi restaurant was very good. Would stay here again. Great location; easy walking to Mag Mile and Navy Pier. Had a manicure, pedicure, and massage in the Spa; prices affordable and service wonderful.

  Aside from a few minor glitches that I truly believe were simply my typical "good" fortune when traveling (the coffee maker had gone missing, and it took a day to get it replaced) the Fairmont is a wonderful venue -- comfortable well-appointed rooms, a courteous, professional staff, an outstanding wine-bar, and the restaurant is top notch.

  My only complaint is I thought the hotel had a pool onsite, but instead it utilizes the facilities of an attached fitness center with an additional charge for use. We used the concierge to make restaurant reservations and received good tables at both places we requested.
